Greater Minnesota Family Based Services are provided by our dedicated professional counseling staff. Our staff consist of experienced Masters and Bachelors level counselors and therapists-mental health professionals and practitioners-who treat families with the care and respect they deserve during times of stress. We work to prevent out of home placements, to keep the child in the home with the family where they belong.
Individual and Family Counseling or Therapy, Intensive In-home (IIFS), Collaborative Intensive Bridging Services (CIBS), Diagnostic Assessment, Mental Health Targeted Case Management (MH-TCM), Parent Education and Supportive Services for clients and families to assist with prevention of out of home placement or reunification.
Our Intensive In-Home Family Services support children with mental health challenges and their families through individual and family therapy, CTSS skills counseling, and crisis planning. We work closely with county social services and families to prevent out-of-home placements whenever possible and assist families during reunification. Therapists and counselors meet with families where they are—at home or in the community—two to three times a week, usually in the afternoons or evenings when it’s most convenient for families.
CIBS is an intensive treatment program designed to serve children ages 8 to 17 and their families in circumstances where community-based services have not been sufficient to meet the child’s safety needs and mental health
TARGETED CASE MANAGEMENT supports children, families, and adults with a mental health diagnosis by connecting them to resources and providers within their home community. Targeted Case Managers complete person-centered functional assessments, make valuable referrals, monitor service provision, and coordinate overall mental health care. This “wrap-around” service can complement existing counseling or therapy services provided by our staff, or be offered as a stand-alone service.
Diagnostic Assessments for clients birth to age 18 across the GMFS service area.
Facilitated, confidential meeting between family, friends, and service providers to examine and prioritize the needs of a child's health, safety and wellbeing. This service is available in Blue Earth, Brown, Nicollet, Watonwan, and Sibley Counties.
